UNITY GROUP DONATES $5,000 TO BELLINGHAM FOOD BANK

The Unity Group is pleased to announce in lieu of corporate gifts we have chosen to make a $5,000 donation to the Bellingham Food Bank’s – Food Bank Fresh program.  Unity was a founding sponsor of this program last year and with its success is happy to continue supporting the program.  Our founding contribution resulted in the production of 8,000 pounds of food to the food bank throughout 2012.   “We are hopeful this contribution will provide over 10,000 visitors per month to the food bank with fresh, locally grown, organic produce throughout 2013,” says Barry Hanson, President of The Unity Group.

2012 United Way Campaign Results

The Unity Group is pleased to announce we reached our 100% Participation Goal and were able to raise $28,465 for the United Way and their 30 partner agencies! That is a net increase in giving of 8.7% compared to 2011!

$800 Cake!

The Unity Group was a proud table sponsor for the 12th Annual Blue Skies for Children Dinner & Charity Auction.  Nancy, from our Commercial Insurance Department entered her homemade Chocolate Truffle Cake into the auction and it earned the top bid of the evening at $800! 

Blue Skies raised a net of nearly $60,000 at the event which will help the organization continue their mission of raising hope and self-esteem through enrichment programs and other essentials for homeless, low-income, and foster children in Whatcom and Skagit Counties!

Also a big congratulations to Blue Skies for winning the Bellingham Chamber's Non-Profit of the Year Award!!!
